San Jacinto College to develop LDAR Tech Curriculum

Christopher Wild, the chairman of the Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, and Physics Department at San Jacinto College recently approached us about their plans for starting an environmental technology program at San Jacinto College.

The purpose of the program would be to enable the student to be ready to work in the industry that we serve, including LDAR tech training, field water/sampling and testing, wastewater monitoring, etc.

They have determined that the best place to start is with an organized LDAR tech training program.

Chateau Release includes Customized Leak Reporting Wizard

The newest release of Chateau now enables sending email reports of current leaks according to an infinite array of variables. Chateau will now automatically email leak status reports for any component property to any group or individual based on five different priority settings. 

For instance, you can automatically generate the following email reports:

* All the leaks in plant on the day they happen to Bob.

* All the current, open leaks in Plant A to Freda.

* Just the leaks on PRVs in Plant B to Mary- within 3 days of the next Due Date. 

* Just the leaks on Tag 66887 on the day that they happen to the guy who sold you the valve.

Excellence marches on – 98.8% analyzers are in Service!

For 10 years we have been committed to building the best VOC analyzers in the world.

Best starts and stops with the fact that they make our customers’ LDAR efforts easier and more productive. That is why we track our performance and celebrate our success.

As of today, 98.8% of the phx21s and phx42s that we have built are in service. And we are working every day to make them better. On the phx42 we are improving the probe system, the regulator performance and the filter removal detection feature. We don’t rest until we get to 100%- because that’s when we send out brownies!

Trixie dresses up for last cold snap

As spring approaches, Trixie wanted to pull out her blanket and enjoy what is likely to be our last cold snap this year- in style! We join her in wishing all of our friends and customers, who live up north, the quickest possible coming of spring.

phx42 Certified by Korean National Institute of Environmental Research

Mr Kim and his able staff at ENSKorea are proud to announce that our phx42 has been certified by the Korean government. 

The highly prized “Approval Certificate of Environmental Instrument” was issued on  December 16, 2019.

Mr Kim was in our office last week and shared his excitement for this achievement with us personally. Then he went for a ride on Trixie!

We just received the English translation of the Certificate and wanted to share it with you. We also have a great photo of Mr Kim and his staff with Kevin and Jeremy, but thought the photo of Mr Kim with Trixie would be more fun.

phx42 Level 1 Certification now includes an Influencer Section

In an effort to leverage what we are learning every day about how best to support our phx42 users, we have added a new feature to the Quarterly Level 1 Certification process: an “Influencer Section.”  This new feature is based on the fact that the Level 1 Techs at each of our customer sites are the ones who can have the most positive impact on how their fellow technicians care for and maintain the phx21 and phx42 analyzers at their sites.

With this addition, we will be able to encourage the Level 1 Techs to spread the word about lessons that are being learned at all of our other sites. The goal is to enable you to focus on building value into your LDAR program- not fussing with your equipment.

Juniper Handheld Repair Update

LDARtools is proud to have been the only off-site factory authorized repair center for HAZLOC (Class 1 Div. 2) repairs on Juniper Systems’ Mesas and Archer 2s and previously Archer Field PCs.  This designation was the result of an exhaustive process of training, auditing, inventory management and certification.  

The cost and time to maintain LDARtools as an off-site repair center is no longer justified. LDARtools will be phasing out of our role in this process. We will do all that we can to make the transition as convenient as possible for our customers.

We are proud of the 9 years of successful repairs on Juniper products and regret this inevitable development. We will still provide Juniper handhelds and accessories to our customers. 

From now until Nov 1, 2019, we will continue to process repairs on Archer 2s and Mesas at our office in Dickinson, Texas. We will forward the handhelds to Juniper Systems, arrange for the repairs and we will handle all the invoicing. As needed, we will work with our customers to set up an account directly with Juniper Systems to facilitate the repairs. As of Nov 1st, all HAZLOC repairs on Juniper products will have to be handled directly with Juniper Systems at their repair facility in Logan, Utah.
